Welcome to Spring for Alexandria's Community Service Day
Presented by Volunteer Alexandria in partnership with the City of Alexandria
|You and hundreds of other volunteers will join together with Volunteer Alexandria and the City of Alexandria to provide community services at numerous sites throughout the city, making it a better place for all of us! Volunteers will paint, weed and plant, organize and sort donations, clean up streams, fix trails, get pools ready, beautify shelters, and much more. |
Just as in a walk-a-thon, we ask each volunteer to raise a minimum of $25 in pledges that will be used to purchase the supplies and materials necessary to implement the projects. Potential proceeds benefit our community, including people interested in volunteering who need assistance to find the perfect volunteer opportunity. As your Community Resource for Volunteerism, Volunteer Alexandria's programs provide volunteers for nonprofit organizations throughout the year.
Great prizes for the top fundraising teams! Deadline to enter online and off-line pledges is Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Go to EVENT INFORMATION (link is on the left-hand side of this page) and scroll down to the REWARDS section to see this year's prizes.
This is the entrance to your own online headquarters. Here you can register as a TEAM LEADER or INDIVIDUAL, connect with teammates, reach out to friends and family, and track your fund-raising efforts. We provide you with resources and tools that you can use as they are or you may personalize them with your own language and photos.
PLEASE NOTE: Your log-in and profile information is only used by Volunteer Alexandria and all proceeds for this event will benefit the work of Volunteer Alexandria.
As a TEAM LEADER (TL), you are responsible for recruiting your team members, set a fundraising goal, encourage members to raise money and pledge $25, and work with their Site Supervisor and Volunteer Alexandria to facilitate positive, exciting, and rewarding volunteer project on the day of the event. TLs oversee the implementation of all the activities at their work sites. They coordinate all of the work to be completed at their site and they are the ones who know everything about all of the activities at their sites. TLs act as manager of the project site, and coordinate with the Site Supervisor to ensure that volunteers are getting the jobs done in each particular project area. We will equip you with all tools you need in order to be a great TL!
The Volunteer Day is part of Spring for Alexandria - a collaboration of: Volunteer Alexandria and City of Alexandria.
